Calvary Family Center Daycare in Fort Dodge’s Pleasant Valley is nearing the completion of a new playground thanks to a $10,600 donation from Linking Families and Communities.
The project, which started last November and is about 75% complete, replaced equipment for the daycare, licensed for 39 children, that had not been updated in 15 years. New equipment includes two bouncers for younger children and a large activity unit for children over five including two slides and a rock climbing area.
Other renovations include fence repair, yard leveling, placement of fall surfacing material, roofing repairs and a storage shed.
The cost of the project totaled close to $20,000, some costs of which were mitigated thanks to donated time and labor.
An opening for the the community to see the new improvements is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 19. The facility is located at 1318 10th Ave. S.W.
